Do you think there should be a subforum for Groupbuys, to make them more visible?

how about a subforum for group buys to make them less visible?

I am currently quite annoyed by the Supbeam X60 group buy notification that has spammed the top of the home page for weeks now.

(but I'm getting older and grumpier I must admit)

+1,000 I hate that darned link up there. I’ve always been grumpy and don’t really care if it gets worse.

A separate sub-forum in the buy and sell forum.

I for one find that the Acebeam groupbuy link up top annoying, and I’m grumpy as well

Sorry about the X60 link. I just PM’d SB and asked him to remove it. I use a spam blocker, so I never see any annoying links or advertisements.

At the time of the X60 sale, there was concern that a few other resellers would buy out the entire X60 inventory and leave everyone else without a chance to buy. A lot of other things happened behind the scenes that I never mentioned which also threatened the availability of inventory to our members.

I think that’s a great idea. Sub forum in the buy/sell part would work good on a few levels. I didn’t mind the banner up top, but then again I spend more time now answering PM’s from people asking for help with mods than I do on the regular forum itself. Plus I finally got half way decent internet back after a month of frustration with my IP.

Well, we will have to call it something else, other than the Group Buy forum then. Maybe, the knitting place, or something else that would deceive them. How about the anti-map forum.

I could see how it would help some members, but I never browse the forum in any way other than the “main” page that shows the “new” posts.

No matter what it is called some dealer is going to see it and complain about it taking “their” business.

Maybe there shouldn't be a main page at all. More like CPF. I am kind of 50/50. I use the "main page"here, but I've gotten to where I only look at that one page and if I don't see anything, bye, bye. I think with a style like CPF, at least I tend to go to the sub forums I am interested in and I look at more threads that way. I look at a lot less threads here, because I never go into the sub forums, so for me, a GB sub forum would be good. I wouldn't go look at it.

The recent posts page is why BLF is so much fun! you get to see everything that is posted and I am interested in everything . (well, except in most group buys then).
